The Repair & Restoration Grant Application Process
The Fund recognizes that one important aspect of church ministry is the communal worship and fellowship of the congregation. Congregations need a place to gather. The Repair & Restoration program is designed to help congregations maintain their physical facilities.
Once every five years, eligible congregations may request a Repair & Restoration grant to repair existing buildings or to build new structures for youth, family or senior citizen programs. Applying congregations must raise funds toward the project. The Jessie Ball duPont Fund will then match the congregation’s funds. Churches with annual incomes of $150,000 or less are eligible for a 3:1 matching grant up to a maximum of $50,000. Those with annual incomes of more than $150,000 are eligible for a 2:1 matching grant up to a maximum of $50,000.
For projects whose total cost exceeds $75,000, the Fund also will offer up to $25,000 in interest-free loans. The congregation must provide a plan to repay the loan within five years.
